Recently, I applied for a position that would require me to use Adobe Illustrator a whole lot more than I've been used to recently. While I've done several vector-based illustration and design jobs in the past, my recent focus has been with Procreate on the iPad.

So I decided, as a proof of concept for the prospective employer, to jump back into the SVG pond, re-familiarize myself with the software, and see if I can still produce the same quality work as before. Spoiler alert #1... yep, I can.

Spoiler alert #2... I received word 3 hours into working on this piece that the company decided to go with a different candidate. Ironic - but I finished the piece anyway.

What you see here is first, the sketch I created in Procreate, then the final illustration with a detail shot. I love that with vector illustrations, you do not lose that crisp quality line no matter how far you zoom in.
